What happened to carefree school days?
But anywyas , things could be worse. We are doing a production of School House Rocks and i'm in charge of props. It's been really eye opening. The kids can not behave even for something that is fun. God, its all crazy. But on another hand, i am excited about teaching Anne Frank. The kids are having a hard time understanding the concept of the Nazi's and the Jews and all that went on in that time, but they are very into the fact that we are reading someone else's diary.
Well enough of school and work. But thats all i have. i work and pretend i am a babysitter. thats the life of the new teacher. on the other hand, i am truly excited about going way next weekend and going to California in December. I'll be going to California to spend my birthday with Keyla. I am so excited! I have not been to California in such a long time. So it's going to be great.

In a way i'm back.
After 1st NY trip i went to Puerto Rico. It was some trip. i took stephi, one of my co-workers with me. we had a very good time. we wen to places that i've always wanted to go but after living in pr for 12 years and an overprotective mother hanging on to my hip, i was never able to do. i like the sense of newly found independence (or rather, then it was newly found independence, in a sense). in two small weeks we basically went around the island. i finally saw "flamming june" (for those of you who don't know, it a painting). we went to Culebras, thats were the whole hour and a half of vomit occured and the disagrable, and most unplesant argument became public knowledge. But in all, it was great. NY came again a week after i came back from PR. yes people i like to travel. if it was up to me, i would take a year off just to go around the world. yes it sounds corny but hey, i like what i like. this time Vi didn't go with me. i went with Livy to Cindy's house. the reason for returning was because we got tickets to the Madonna concert. yes, it was awsome. i had a blast even though i did not know 3/4 of the songs. Madonna fans please don't hate me but i never grew up hearing Madonna. Actually i didn'y grow up hearing much of anything, church does that to you. I mean people we are talking about the girl who was not allowed to go to the movies untill she turned 13, * thank you Nelly for my first time* after Madonna we stayed for a week and did things i could have only dreamed of. we went out every night to dinner and let me tell you that it was awsome. but not cheap our dinners ranged from $150 to $350 a night. but the weird thing was that i didn't pay for most. Cindy's sister did most of the paying which was great but it also makes me feel guilty. I tried to pay some but she wouldn't accept. I did get away with paying some of the lunches though. so... Broadway...Phantom was so much better the Chicago. Sorry Vivi but i was falling asleep in chicago and i could not be more awake in phantom. we spent a whole afternoon at Central Park and we finally found the strawberry fields. time went by to fast. i had a great time sitting up late and talking with Cindy. and i was just getting used to the subway when we were already hailing a cab for the airport. oh well. soon after i was back in Florida and dreaming of a new job. i got my ass into gear asap and God answered my dream. Now you see people, when you have dreams and you pray about the remember to be specific about it, ok? i got my dream alright but God didn't wwarn me i would be woring at the Middle school from hell. *no offense God* The freaking devil is scared of these kids! no joke. the classes started 9 weeks agao and on the first 2 weeks we had 7 teachers quit. Horrible does not even come close to describe these children. i mean i understand that we have to be understanding but they are just a horrid little bunch of children. by the end of the first few weeks i wanted to leave myself. Now just on thursday we found out that there will be two more teachers leaving and then i know of about 5 more who will not be coming back after winter break. nice place to work right? well it gets better. a6th grader stabbed another student in my class, a 7th grader stood up in class and yelled at me and told me to shut up, my 7th graders made my sub cry, he said and i quote "they are horrible and the day was a disaster. thank you for giving me the chance of actually knowing why subs don't come back" crazy right? well i could go on and on but i should stop there. i'll be going to CA in december. happy birthday to me! i guess i will let everyone know of my adventures at school. |
