New York is interesting Part 1

Im back from the BIG APPLE! Boy did i have a great time! i had a blast. we where able to see cindy, which was great because we did stay at her house!!! And i think i saw all of NY in just three days! No kidding people, we could not have had a better tour guide then Cindy and her sister Livy. Oh my God! what great people! We'll lets start off with saying that our flight left Orlando almost 30 to 40 minutes late. Which actually would have been great because we were trying to surprise Cindy. But on the down side we REALLY wanted to get to NY so the wait was painfull. Anyways when we arrived at LAG Airport my first thought was "R we in PR? The airport is nothing compared to what i'm used to, i mean you people who have been to Orlando International, you know what i'm talking about. Well no offense to any New Yorkers out there put the place was dirty and really run down. But you know it didn't faze me as much as it should have now that one day while i was listing my count down to a co-worker a guest heard me say i was going to NY and he commented he was from there and wanted to give the new comer some advice. He pointed out that if i was going to go to NY and think on finding everything nice and clean and handed in a silver platter like Orlando i might as well not even go, but if my intentions where to go and appreciate the history the city had to give then that was going to be worth it. And you know what? i'm happy he did say that because even though my father as well as others had tried to explain NY city to me, i would have never expected it to be the way i saw it. Here is where i make a pause and actually addmit that i feel spoiled. the reason i say this is because you don't appreciate what you have until your forced to look the other way and see how things really are in other places. I guess we take for granted our clean streets, we complain about our streets when i just encounterd streets unleveled and pot holes the size of NC. it's crazy!
well, anyways my first trip on a taxi was funny. the driver zoomed thru the streets and if Livy didn't know where she was going he would have taken us around the long way and charged us a bundle. So stupid me, when we got to the apt. asked Livy if she had the right apt. number and Cindy was like"I know that voice!" stupied, big mouth me! i was so angree at myself! but the good thing was that she didn't expect both vivi and myself the there still was so element of surprise in the making. So we leave our things in her apt. and head out to dinner. Not even 1 hour into our trip and on our way to the subway to chatch dinner Ivette, Cindy's other Sister falls flat on the ground twisting her ankle! Can you imagin! We could not beleive it! At the spot her ankle stats to swell and get black and blue. We though she had something broken. So we were going to catch a cab but here sis said no. So were at the subway terminal, remember, it's nyd's first time. So...well...it's dirty and i feel that if i touch something my skin is going to peel off as if acid has touched it, no joke. but we get our tickes and alls good. i try to figure out what cindy and livy are saying about the N train and W train and transfers and what not, not understanding a thing they just said,. Impossible to do. It was as if it was all a different languae to me, i mean i understand Italian better then i was able to understand the whole train issue... Part two to my NY experence well come soon.

New York!!

*New York, New York!* singing* So, a well deserved (if I may say so myself) vacation is just hours away. I can’t wait to see the clock on my cubicle to read 4:30 pm! The clock will not only say it’s present time but it will be telling me. “Girl what are you waiting for?! Get up and hit the road, your vacation just started! Yes people, my mind is slowly wandering and clocks are talking to me. Get why I need this vacation. I am truly excited about this trip. I have never been to New York, so it’s all new to me. My friend is mad because I’m leaving and he can’t but you know, he just came back from Prague so I don’t know what all the anger is about. Well people there is not much to say. I’ll be taking three trips this month so I’ll basically be on the road all this month. Nothing new has happened except that I finally finish my morning job. I think I’m going to miss it. I enjoy working here and the people are great. I’m hoping to get that job I’ve applied for. But what I’m not going to miss is all that lack of sleep. Bed, yes…finally a full 8 hours sleep!!! You don’t know how much that means until you find yourself working 6 days a week 14 ½ hours a day with as little as 4 to 5 hours of sleep if any at all. Believe me, don’t try this at home! Oh, no more physical therapy for me! Boy I am full of good news! I finished my therapy and I AM GLAD. It’s no fun to fracture your ankle and then go on with your daily routine. But anyhow, all is good and getting better. I went to my boss last night and I was like “if there is a chance, can I leave early, I haven’t packed and I leave in 11 hours, 34 minutes and 30 seconds?” she just gave me that “you can’t wait to get out of here” look but I didn’t manage to get out until my hour. And still I didn’t get home till 12:30 am thanks to a certain person who had me talking for over an hour. People, I need my sleep, very important. Speaking of everything I shall leave, have a tour guide check list to type up. Finally some work for me to day, we’ve been dead lately.

CANDLELIGHT

here is a little something i wrote as an advertisment piece for the company i work for:

Calm and serene,
As radiant as life,
Never blow, or you’ll turn off the light.
Diligently, the flame does its work,
Little by little giving us warmth.
Eventually the fluorescence diminishes, but the memory forever exists.
Loving memories,
Individual pride,
Giving the joy of song,
Having the privilege of
Timeless pleasure!

As diligently as the flame does its work in bringing you warmth, light and loving memories, let SUPER HOLIDAY TOURS work hard to help you with your plans for this year’s Candlelight Processional.

**ok so you mean to tell me that the govenor wants to impose a 7% sales tax to an island who s 40% of the population resides under the poverty line! PLEASE! it doesn't matter how you put it, THE PEOPLE CAN'T PAY! YOU TELL ME WHO IS GOING TO PAY THE WATER, LIGT AND PHONE BILLS? IT'S STUPID!
